On the first day, students will be urged to create a mallet or two, or something similar in size to their desire. From there, we will move on to bowl turning, how to select lumber and how to properly mount the lumber to the lathe. Each student will practice these techniques through the building of a cutting and in doing so will learn how to avoid burning wood, inaccurate cuts and unsafe usage of equipment.
