Dystopia

Dec 11, 2019

Paducah School of Art and Design is pleased to present Dystopia, an exhibition of photographic works by PSAD photography students interpreting the themes and events of Ray Bradbury’s novel Fahrenheit 451. Dystopia is presented in collaboration with the Carson Center for the Performing Arts and its National Endowment for the Arts funded Big Read program, connecting themes in Fahrenheit 451 to relevant current day topics through reading, discussions, and artistic impressions of the text and real world implications. Participating artists are James Barton (pictured here), Paul Grumley, Cindy Jones, Phyllis Russell, Mark Watkins, and Stephanie Young. The exhibition opens alongside PSAD's exhibition of paintings by Paducah folk artist Joan Dance on January 16 from 5 - 6:30 p.m., and remains on display through February 25 in the downstairs Alcove Gallery within PSAD's 2D and Graphic Design Building, 905 Harrison Street.
