What are the entrance requirements for PSAD?
All students who meet the entrance requirements of West Kentucky Community and Technical College are welcome to take classes at Paducah School of Art and Design. We are happy to look at a prospective student’s portfolio and provide advice about which courses to take.
Do I need to be enrolled in a degree program to take classes at PSAD?
No. Students may take classes for credit or non-credit. They may work in pursuit of a degree or purely in pursuit of new or enhanced creative skills. All students are treated the same in this regard and are expected to do all required and assigned work, as well as participate in class critiques and field trips.
What degrees does PSAD offer?
West Kentucky Community and Technical College was the first college in the Commonwealth to offer the Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) degree in Visual Art. Paducah School of Art and Design developed and designed the curriculum for this degree to meet the needs of visual arts students. This curriculum is designed for the student who wishes to transfer into a baccalaureate degree program at a four-year institution or who wants to pursue a career in the visual arts.
PSAD also offers an Associate in Applied Science degree in Visual Communication:Multimedia, as well as diploma and certificate programs in the field for those seeking entry into the workforce.
